What
do you mean by 'Tiered' process?

the hiring process. Those who do not are usually notified.
Secondly,

by our recruitment staff.

Do your EFL Teachers pay NO key, deposit, or gift
money for apartments?
Four Seasons takes care of key money (deposits). Teachers are responsible
for rent and apartment upkeep.
If a teacher's apartment is not properly cared for and cleaned when it
is time to leave, they will be required to pay a cleaning fee.
It
looks like rent is 1/3 subsidized. How much is rent before and after the
subsidy?
The rents of the apartments vary with the size. For the largest apartments
the rent is 95,000 yen per month, or 66,500 yen after subsidy.
The smallest are 80,000 yen, or 56,000 for one tenant, after subsidy,
plus an additional 5,000 yen / month maintenance fee.

The
MANSION looks to be very nice from what I've seen on the website. Is the
health club an ONSEN, or a health club like what you would find overseas?
The health club is like what you would find overseas. This means there
is a weight room, a swimming pool and tennis courts.
Onsen are not health clubs, they are mineral hot springs.
Is
the health insurance fully covered by Four Seasons Language School, or
is it just partially subsidized.?
Four Seasons pays half the health insurance premium and deductible, the
other half is the teachers' responsibility.
What
are the paid holidays?
Spring vacation in May, for 2002 is actually April 27th thru May 6th.
Summer vacation in August is from August 10th thru the 18th. Winter vacation
is from December 21st thru January 5th. All but two teachers have Saturday
and Sunday off, the remaining two have Sunday and Mondays off. FS is closed
on all national holidays.

There are 15 National Holidays in 2002, some fall in seasonal vacation
times.
Does

Yes.
What
is the typical work day/week?
20 teaching hours per week is the average, though it does vary. Usually
teachers have a class or two in the morning (sometimes from 7:30),
but the bulk of the class load is in the evening, with classes ending
anywhere from 8:00 to 9:45.
I
was wondering if it's possible to open a Japanese bank account before
I arrive?
No. Japanese banks require the depositor to have an alien
registration card (bottom of the page) and a Japanese address.
Does
Four Seasons cover all, or part of the trip to Japan?
No. The cost of getting to Japan is not covered by Four Seasons.
What
is the cost of living in Hamamatsu?
Naturally, this depends on ones spending habits, but teachers have reported
that they can "easily save US$700 a month after food and rent and
whathaveyou."
I
have a Bachelor degree in education, and am teaching English in (a foreign
country) at the moment, would I still be considered for the position if
I don't have RSA CELTA?
Although we would prefer applicants to have a TESL certificate, we do
weigh in other factors such as relevant degrees and experience teaching
outside your native country.
I
can speak French in addition to English, but not Japanese, would I be
considered?
We do not require any Japanese ability for our corporate seminars. A second
language is a bonus.
Does
your school offer language-study opportunities for teachers? (I understand
that I may need to pay for this.)
Four Seasons offers a basic Japanese language course free of charge to
our teaching staff.
