Absolutely. Although many classes are held here at our school, Hamamatsu is a large, sprawling metro area, and teachers will need to drive to and from classes held at companies, kindergartens and private homes. An international driving permit can be used along with a valid license for 365 days after arrival in Japan. Before that day, all foreigners living and working in Japan are required to obtain a Japanese drivers' license.
